Camp Sunshine Kids
Camp Sunshine Kids
Camp Sunshine is thrilled to partner with Kids Ride for Life for its inaugural event! Our year round programs are completely free for our families so we rely on community support to help us continue to offer quality, family-oriented programs. We are excited to build awareness of our organization in the motorcycle community. My dream for Camp Sunshine is for us to be able to serve every child in Georgia who is diagnosed with cancer each year – that’s around 420 kids – but we can’t do it if people don’t know about us! Thank you for giving us the opportunity to spread the word about Camp Sunshine! If you’d like to learn more, please visit us at mycampsunshine.com

“Bikers seem to have a stigma, but they have the biggest hearts” said David Silcox (Brother Dave). David said the kids learn that seeing appearances applies to them as well as the leather-clad bikers. “It doesn’t matter what’s on the outside, whether you’re bald or you’ve lost a limb or you talk differently because of illness.” Our committee members have participated on a lot of charity rides, when I and a group of friends formed the Kids Ride for Life; we want to give back to kids and the community. Kids Ride for Life allows us to do this in a very large way by accessing the motorcycle community and friends we have developed over the years.

What "kidsrideforlife.org” means to me…."a chance to give back"… my husband David and I have participated in many charity rides with our fellow “bikers” and truly “Bikers” are one of a kind, they are always ready to lend a helping hand. As a Mother I’ve been blessed with healthy kids and grandbabies,  so if I can do just one thing to help a child in need, then I’m going to give it my all.

Looking back about 12 years ago my niece's child was born with Hirschsprung's disease and  we practically lived at the Ronald McDonald house the 1st week of his life. Our family only had our little man with us for 2 weeks and one of the things I remember most was the "help” we received from the Hospice Nurse’s volunteering their time while at the Ronald House, everyone played a major role in our lives, that I will never forget!!

"In helping others, we shall help ourselves, for whatever good we give out completes the circle and comes back to us."
