The threat of rain did not hold the tried and true biker from coming out to support Camp Sunshine's Poker Run. The bikers traveled to each stop as a team to support the three cancer survives of Camp Sunshine that participated in the Poker Run. It was lead by Ted Lewis - 10 year survivor and Brandon Mc Gee riding with Gray Carnes of the Gray Beards RC. The Gray Beards follow the survivors and made sure the group of bike's were safe, THANK'S GREY BEARDS for all your support! We raised a total of $9,000.00 for Camp Sunshine, thanks to all the riders and our Sponsors for making this a successful event for Camp Sunshine! Stay tune for more photo's and info on the day's event.

Welcome to Kid's Ride for Life!

2011 Ride Info
Camp Sunshine Kids
The Kid's Ride for Life was formed from a dream one of our committee members had one night after watching the "Ultimate Gift". He shared his dream with friends and family, from this dream a committee was formed consisting of a group of people that shared the same vision. We hope you will join us and help our dream come true for Kid's and their families that are experiencing the challenges of fighting illness in life.

Our committee consist of people that are motorcycle enthusiasts that get involved in charitable organization to help kid's within the North Georgia communities. We formed our group in November of 2010 and consist of 20 committee members. We come from all walks of life and enjoy riding our motorcycles on a regular basis. Our main mission of forming Kid's Ride for Life was to help Kid's and their Families. We are a Non-Profit Corporation incorporated under the laws of the State of Georgia.

Each year we will pick a charitable organization (501 c3) to host a ride for, all the proceeds go to this organization. In December of 2010 we picked Camp Sunshine in Decatur, GA as the charity we would host a ride in 2011. Please plan to ride in this event and support Camp Sunshine. You don't need to be a motorcyclist to support this cause, come in your car!

The Kid's Ride for Life / Camp Sunshine Poker Run will be
held on May 14th,
2011.

What is Camp Sunshine?

Camp Sunshine Website
Children with cancer are normal children with special needs who want to participate fully in the everyday experiences of growing up. Camp Sunshine provides programs throughout the year to give children with cancer the opportunity to enjoy normal activities like swimming, horseback riding, arts and crafts, and making friends!

Camp Sunshine offers a variety of programs, which encompass the entire family - brothers, sisters and parents! A network of support is made up of other families experiencing the challenges of fighting cancer.

Often isolated from their peers due to their illness and the demands of treatment, the children who attend Camp Sunshine programs realize they are not alone in their struggle with cancer. They gain new strength and hope from others who have faced similar problems and the positive effects last far beyond the brief time spent at camp. We believe the friendships the children make through Camp Sunshine will give them encouragement and hope as they face the challenges of childhood cancer.

In addition to paid professional staff, Camp Sunshine has dedicated volunteers that help, as well as medical professionals who can administer medication and other types of treatment to children with cancer. All volunteers participate in an extensive application and training process and must past a background check. See the Camp Sunshine video
